Shar came to Safe Harbor with Renee, Robin, Oliver, and Zaranna. She lived the full 24 years of her life before coming to rescue in the same loving home. Shars owner was advanced in years, and entered hospice. Safe Harbor was happy to become a solution to guarantee the lifelong love, care, and safety of these wonderful horses. Shar very friendly, and loves people. She is broke to ride, leads, stands for the farrier, clips, ties, and bathes well. She is a little nervous to load at first, but it takes less than 5 minutes to get her on a trailer; and is really not a challenge. She just needs some re-assurance that it is not a scary horse monster. Shar is broke to ride; beginner ready. Though beginner ready, she is a spirited girl, and will require a rider with confidence, and is likely not best suited to a young child. Shars nervous habit under saddle is to back, and she can back rapidly if she gets scared. Her rider needs to have enough knowledge to give Shar her head and urge her forward, and not panic if Shar does this. It is a minor button, but we have observed it with her, and feel it is significant enough to say that a young child is not the right choice for her. She is a middle of the herd temperament, and is neither dominant nor submissive. She has the looks of an egyptian Arabian, and she is registered. Shars adoption fee is $300
