Breed: Quarterhorse Age: 2 Gender: Mare Kirin joined Safe Harbor through a boarding facility default. She is 2 years old, and is beautifully built. Kirin was registered, but her papers will not transfer to rescue, so she will be adopted out as non-registered. This girl is very very friendly, easy to approach and halter in the field. She is a middle of the herd temperment and neither dominant or submissive. She gets along very well with other horses. Kirin has Chimera coloration with brindling on one side which makes her very unique. The name Kirin is a direct reflection of her coloration. Western scholars of Chinese Art used the word Qilin or Qirin to describe a winged quadroped (also known as a Chimera). The sighting of a Kirin was a good omen, spotted only at the passing of a great leader or ruler. Kirin is available for adoption now, and her adoption fee is $300.
